A pilot study for the KSP with Algeria was conducted by the Korean delegation during 20th~26th December in Algiers, Algeria with objectives of collecting data and information on current situation of National Investment Fund – Algerian Development Bank (FNI-BAD) and confirming the detailed research scope to be covered by the Korean experts.
During their stay in Algiers, the Korean delegation visited FNI-BAD, CNED, COSOB, CGMP, BNA and BA and had interviews with officials and experts from these institutions. Through these interviews, the Korean experts found out that FNI-BAD had a challenge of improving its organization and the capacity of employees since its transformation into FNI-BAD, a strategic investment institute, for promoting public investment in key industries. For this reason, Korean experts and Algerian stakeholders will come up with policy recommendations to the Algerian government based on the overall analysis of Korea Development Bank including its function and organization.
The Korean delegation also discussed with the Ministry of Finance, the counterpart agency, on the details of the overall program schedule including Policy Practitioners¡¯ Workshop and Interim Reporting Workshop which will be hosted by Korea Institute of Development Strategy. The Ministry of Finance requested the Korean delegation to make additional visits to Algeria for more in-depth study and analysis. |
